Toast slices as dominoes? Yes, please. This domino-driven Rube Goldberg-esque video may not be all in one shot — and maybe some of it is helped with some digital post-production? I’m looking at you, parachutes — but the use of a fan with feathers, a flip-book style animation, an underwater shot, and a few Cobra Weave Exploding Stick Bombs all throughout a huge house sets this one apart.

Detroit has lost 50% of its population in the last 50 years, giving rise to urban meadows and blocks where only a single house stands occupied. Inhabitants grow their own vegetables and wild deer wonder the empty streets. It is thought to be a glimpse of what urban living could be like post-peak oil.

“Some 45,000 abandoned houses pock Detroit, and the city only demolishes only 500 a year, thanks to concerns over lawsuits and environmental hazards, as well as lack of funding. ”

Detroit’s Michigan Central Station has been left abandoned since the largest train rolled out in 1988.

Why not take a trip and see the sights?

and obscured by clouds.
